July 2008 Event
Our July event was a big success with dozens of angels, who all share Tevel’s commitment and enthusiasm to benefit the Israeli economy.
Mr. Zvi Chalamish, Consul and Chief Fiscal Officer for the Western Hemisphere, Israel Economic Mission, Ministry of Finance, welcomed the guests, amongst them were esteemed Hedge Fund managers, Venture Capitalists, Private Equity Fund managers, Investment Bankers and other individual accredited investors.
The presenting companies representing promising innovations in the fields of medical devices, software and energy, won the crowd over, as they gave fascinating presentations.
The first presenter was Medi-Tate, a medical devices company that designs and develops innovative tissue removing devices and tooling for the treatment of Benign Prostate Hyperplas BPH affects 50% of men. The next presenter was Pro Compare that provides businesses with technology recommendations, powered by a global community of IT professionals and a patent-pending method. ProCompare's presentation was followed with a fascinating presentation by BeAnywhere who developed a system and method enable a most-intuitive recording, sharing and viewing of videos, all using a camera-equipped phone, without downloading nor installing any software onto the phone. The last company to present was Designer Energy that develops technology to degrade cellulose, the most abundant form of biomass on the plant, into it's constituent sugars that can then be converted into biofuels such as ethanol.
Tevel also incorporates a philanthropic arm into its activities. July's presenter was “Israel Leadership Institution", an educational center for the development of future generations of Israeli leaders. By enabling such an established Israeli philanthropy to present its case for support, Tevel offered concrete opportunities to donate funds to an important Israeli related cause while generating pure business opportunities.
